I’m an Australian writer whose short fiction, articles and reviews have appeared in a number of literary journals and magazines. In 2011/12 I was a Charles Pick Fellow at the University of East Anglia’s creative writing school, and in 2014 I was awarded the Max Fatchen Fellowship at the Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature. I edit the Lamp Post, an online magazine of children’s literary culture, and hold a doctorate in creative writing from the University of Adelaide.
This site is about my writing for adults, but my middle grade novel for children, Crossing, was published in May 2014 under a the pen name Catherine Norton. It shared the Patricia Wrightson prize in the 2015 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards, was a CBCA Notable Book for 2015 and was shortlisted for the 2016 Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature.
